Days 1:
Nairobi - Mount Kenya

Upon your arrival in Nairobi, you will be warmly greeted by your guide and transferred to your hotel for a brief rest. After refreshing, you’ll begin your safari journey with a scenic drive to Mount Kenya, Kenya’s highest peak, which towers majestically above the surrounding landscape. The drive takes you through lush forests and picturesque villages, offering glimpses of rural life in Kenya. Check into your lodge or resort, nestled at the foothills of the mountain, and enjoy a delicious dinner with views of Mount Kenya’s snow-capped peak. In the evening, relax and soak in the tranquil atmosphere of the highlands. This is a perfect setting to begin your safari adventure, combining both natural beauty and a sense of serenity.

Day 2:
Meru National Park

After a hearty breakfast, set off for Meru National Park, an often-overlooked gem that offers pristine landscapes and incredible wildlife. Known for its rich biodiversity, Meru is home to a wide array of animals, including elephants, lions, leopards and diverse bird species. The park was also the setting for the famous story of Elsa the lioness, who was raised by George and Joy Adamson. Upon arrival, embark on a game drive to discover the park’s beauty, with its mix of dense bush, open plains and riverine forests. Keep an eye out for the park’s special residents, including the Grevy’s zebra and endangered black rhinos. After a rewarding day, return to your lodge for dinner, perhaps enjoying a meal under the stars, listening to the sounds of the African night.

Day 3:
Samburu National Reserve

After breakfast, enjoy a scenic drive north to Samburu National Reserve, one of Kenya’s most iconic safari destinations. The reserve is known for its stunning, arid landscape, marked by the Ewaso Ng’iro River and dramatic hills. Upon arrival, check into your lodge and prepare for an afternoon game drive. Samburu offers a unique experience, being home to the “Samburu Five”  five species that are difficult to find elsewhere in Kenya: the reticulated giraffe, Somali ostrich, Grevy’s zebra, Beisa oryx and the gerenuk antelope. As you explore the reserve, you’ll also encounter elephants, lions and cheetahs, making this an exciting day for wildlife enthusiasts. Finish your evening with a relaxing dinner at the lodge, with the African wilderness as your backdrop.

Day 4:
Samburu National Reserve

Rise early for a full day of game viewing in Samburu, starting with a sunrise game drive. This is the best time to see predators in action and spot animals as they begin their day. The Ewaso Ng’iro River provides a water source for wildlife, and you will likely encounter large herds of elephants and buffalos coming to drink, while the riverbanks are teeming with birdlife. After a leisurely breakfast back at the lodge, head out for another exciting game drive to discover more of the reserve’s wildlife. The rugged beauty of Samburu, with its mix of open savannah and riverine woodlands, offers an ideal setting for spotting the reserve’s diverse animal population. Return to your lodge for a well-deserved break, followed by a delicious lunch. The afternoon game drive provides yet another opportunity to spot the big cats, including cheetahs, leopards, and lions. Enjoy your evening in this remote and tranquil part of Kenya, where the wilderness truly feels untamed.

Day 5:
Ol Pejeta Conservancy

On the fifth day, you will travel to Ol Pejeta Conservancy, a unique private conservancy located at the base of Mount Kenya. Ol Pejeta is famous for its commitment to wildlife conservation, especially its work with endangered species such as the northern white rhino. Your day begins with a morning game drive where you can encounter rhinos, elephants and the big cats that roam freely across the conservancy. A highlight of your visit will be the opportunity to see the last two remaining northern white rhinos, which are kept under 24-hour protection. You will also have the chance to visit the Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary, where rescued chimpanzees are rehabilitated and cared for. After a full day of wildlife exploration, return to your lodge within Ol Pejeta for a peaceful evening in the bush, complete with a hearty meal and a well-deserved rest.

Day 6:
Departure

On your final day, enjoy a morning game drive within Ol Pejeta to spot any wildlife you may have missed the previous day. This is your last chance to witness the incredible variety of species in this private conservancy. After breakfast, begin your journey back to Nairobi. Along the way, take in the scenic views of the central highlands and perhaps stop for a quick cultural visit to a local village before reaching Nairobi. Upon arrival in Nairobi, you will be dropped off at your hotel or the airport for your onward journey, leaving with unforgettable memories of a safari that showcased the very best of Kenya’s wilderness.
